The University of Southampton is situated in the city of Southampton, on the south coast of England. It is a founding member of the Russell Group and Worldwide Universities Network, and currently has around 25,000 students enrolled from more than 140 different countries.
The University is known for being research-intensive and has the only Engineering faculty in the UK to receive the highest rating (5*) across all disciplines in the latest Research Excellence Framework. Southampton is cited as the UK’s leading university for Engineering.
The University of Southampton places great emphasis on inter-disciplinary cooperation and collaboration with industry. Employers are often invited to Open Career Days on campus, while the Southampton Careers Service offers free advice to all University of Southampton students for up to three years after graduation.
